On August 23, the committee of National Natural Science Foundation of China released the 2023 review results for projects sponsored by the foundation. The project submitted by Chen Yijing, master’s degree candidate in nursing at Wuhan Mental Health Center, received the sponsorship from the Young Scientists Fund (project No.: 72304104) worth 30,000 yuan.
Leaders of Wuhan Mental Health Center has attached great importance to the construction of nursing and talent cultivation and continuously strengthened measures for talent introduction and fostering. In the past 5 years, the Center has recruited 1 doctor in nursing apart from over 20 master’s degree holders in the discipline. Through improving institutional system, expanding platforms and channels, evoking innovation enthusiasm and enhancing support, the Center has provided comprehensive development space for young talents, vigorously constructed a disciplinary construction and management model integrating strengths from the center and universities. The Center has also engaged Yang Bingxiang, professor at Wuhan University, and Wang Xiaochuan, professor at Tongji Medical University, as disciplinary construction advisors. Historical breakthroughs in research project approval, academic publication, new technology application and continuous education have been achieved. In the past three years, the Center has been sponsored 1 research project by National Natural Science Foundation, 2 projects by Provincial Natural Science Foundation and over 10 projects at the municipal level, and published over 10 papers on SCI journals.
The nursing team's success in being sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation is a signature achievement in the construction of the nursing discipline. The success has been the result of forward-looking vision of leaders from the Center in mental health nursing and relentless efforts of the nursing team, which will further advance the development of nursing at the Center.
